The identification as a squat Greek lekythos from the 4th century BC is based on a convergence of reliable indicators: compact globular form, marked annular foot, narrow neck with flared lip, single vertical handle and decoration of large palmettes in black glaze. The fine beige-orange paste, natural wear of the glaze and archaeological patina confirm an authentic ceramic from the Classical period.
